i am mikmaq indian in english mic-mac
i have band number and i have a tribe.
my tribe is shubenacadie , land of the ground nuts.
some people say it refers to potatoes.
our colors are red yellow black and white
our symbol of inited we stand and the seasons.
we speak english there and some speak indian.
a popular word is mali pronounced Molly!
it means mary mother of god , or another reason to say your surprised by the outcome of whatever is happening.
    Niskam is god
    the creator
    never question him ,
he is the father and for most indians he is in the sun.
we have a favorite bread , it is called four cents.
it is doughe you cook in frying pan and you eat it with jam or peanut butter or just butter and drink it with tea.

    a cheap favorite.

the importance of life is simple Happiness! that is it
everyday when you see you friends you hug them or shake their hand. when you do this it makes the creator happy that his children are getting along. therefore he can go ahead
and get prayers answered with out any interruptions.

we don’t mind being called indians, we now prefer it.
alot of the english settlers tried to save us when small pox broke out. many of the slaves nursed us back to health.
he repaid this by hiddening them out in canada.
back in the day from boston to nova scotia.
some native americans were slaves also by choice when times were bad and there was no food available.
slavery wasnt always bad. some white folks fed you and gave you money to get what you needed back home.
no all people are bad , let’s clear that right now.
love your neighbour because he will save you.

WHAT TRIBE ARE YOU FROM, TO THINK THAT SLAVERY WAS A GOOD THING. THE SHOULD OF BEFRIENDED US WE DID NEED TO BE SLAVES.

what you guys should do is make your own dream catcher
it will protect you from bad dreams.
i never have bad dreams ever
in my dreams i am always brave and stronger
i look for the enemy that hunts my animals.

another good thing to make is a medicine pouche
whenever grandma or grandpa gets sick you get your pouche
and you talk to the creator, the creator is god in english. LOL
remember the creator handles small prayers first and works on the bigger ones.

i fell upon your site while looking for a picture of an indian.
the indian you have their is a two spirited indian.
somepeople beleive they can communicate with animals.
they have a sense that others do not.
anyways i am a tribal indian and i live in modern day times with you. right now i am in boston mass but my reserve is in shubenacadie nova scotia. i have lived on an indian reservation and its alot different from the society you know.
it is a bit wild and yes we do talk to animals.
some just have an extra sense to understand them.
when danger is near you will hear the blue jays.
crows making noise means theres an owls nest nearby.
crows dont like owls. they fight them . that is a nother indian story.

    Hello fourth grader class
my name is robert michael , also know as red star.
i am native american and i am here to answer questions that aren’t being answered.
    first off :
    “we never traded the land”
“we dont want our land back”
we simply said in indian “please take care of the land”
no chemical dumping was ever recognized in our treatys.
clean up mother earth and stop killing her.
when your outside pick up after yourself. take care of the tree and plants and recognize we are all one circle.

secondly, treat animals with respect as you would a person.
the creator put that little animal in your life to love you.
give your animals plenty of water and don’t let your animals ever be harmed or afraid.

The Plain Indians were nomadic hunters of buffalo. This meant that they had to follow the buffalo’s herd when the animals moved from place to place, looking for fresh grass to eat. This required that they be able to unpackand move to another location guickly. They needed a shelter that was portable, durable, and water resistant. The tipi was perfect for that.

Native Americans used buffalo for skin. When they killed an animal for food they would save the skin that was called animal hides. The finest clothes were made from the skins of mountain sheep, then they would decorate them with designs of porcupine quills and with beads. Last but not least for shoes they wore Moccasins, which were made of animal hides and often decorated with quills or beads.

The Plain Indians lived in shelters called Tipis. They made their tipi out of buffalo skin. The tipi was water resistant.Fourteen to twenty buffalo hides were sewn together in a circle with swine. The fire pit was in the center of the tipi to keep warmth and privacy. When the tipi was replaced, they use the buffalo skin for clothing.

The bison was very important to the Native Americans of the Plains.Without the bison, the Native Americans were not able to keep their way of life. They made their finest clothes from the skins of antelope or mountain sheep, their everyday clothes of deer or elk skins.Very often they decorated them with special designs of porcupine quills, and later, with trade beads.

Pemmican was a very popular food to take on hunting trips because it was light to carry and very nutritious. Pemmican stored in airtight containers would keep for several years.

To make pemmican, she grinds up jerky with a coarse stone, which she then mixes with melted suet and dried berries. Then she forms this mixture into strips and stores them in a container such as a buffalo stomach.
