We are going to visit the website ES2000 Endangered Species of the Next Millennium.  This website is going to provide you with links to information about definition, causes, laws, and images.

Your task, explore the website with the following questions in mind:

• What is today’s current situation with endangered animals?  How can it affect you?  What can you do?

• Why are animals becoming endangered?  Why is this happening directly and indirectly?

• How can we help?  How is the government and other organizations trying to help?

Write a comment in the space provided below including details from the websites you visited through the links above.  Make sure you include facts, not only your opinions.

What would you see? What would you be doing? Would you be in school? Would you be working? What would you be wearing? Where would you live? What would life be like for you?

Create a story about your journey through time.  Imagine, create and share your life as a colonist story here.  Be creative but remember to use facts that you have learned, your story should be fun and creative but accurate!

Fourth grade students are working hard on their Endangered Animals unit in their classrooms.

Check out this Fact Sheet about many different endangered animals. Search an animal that you are interested in. Write a comment on our Blog about some interesting facts you learned about that animal.

Make sure to include:

• where they live
• what they eat
• what is causing their endangerment
• any other special facts

You have read so many books by the famous author Patricia Polacco.  This picture shows just some of the covers of her very entertaining books.  Not only have you read many of her books but you also learned a good deal about her.

Let’s use our Blog space as a place to share our thoughts on the following topics:

• What are some things that you learned about Patricia Polacco’s life that you also noticed in her books?
• What is your favorite Patricia Polacco book?  Why?
• Where there any themes that reoccurred in several of her books?

A lot of times writers have trouble because they may not have organized their writing or planned it out well. It is always a great idea to plan our writing before diving in!

I found a great tool that you can use when planning your biography writing! It is called the Bio Cube and all you need to do is follow the steps and fill in the information to create your bio cube. Once all six sides of the cube display a check mark over the number you are ready to print and build your cube. Then use your cube to write away!
